PUMPKIN PIRATE SHIP SAILING UPON A CHOCOLATE SEA

Upon a time long, long ago, we sailed away

On a pumpkin pirate ship upon a chocolate sea.

We braved stormy rains of lemon drops,

Linda, my dogs, and me.

********************

We waved at other pirate dudes,

As we sailed past chocolate-milk falls.

When they proved to be unfriendly sorts

We blasted them with Milk Dud balls.

********************

Beneath marshmallow clouds we darted.

We were always on the run.

Jellyfish and licorice eels, we watched,

Frolicking under a warm orange sun.

********************

Gummy dolphins played tag-along,

Making such a spectacular splash.

It seemed a never-ending journey

Till day surrendered to a green-flash.

Okay, a poet I’m not.  Just a little Halloween humor with the Pumpkin Pirate Ship revised from last year to help take away the scariness of the holiday.

IMPORTANT NOTE:  Kate tells me I’ve been working her to hard and has demanded a week off.  She will be back with us next week.
